Rural Folkloric Party in Las Tunas Next June

Las Tunas-  The 44th Cucalambeana Folkloric Party will be held in this city, capital of the province of the same name, from next June 29 to July 2.

Besides paying tribute to the bucolic poet Juan Cristobal Napoles Fajardo, El Cucalambe, the main purpose of the festivity is to honor the bicentenary of Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Venezuela and Chile.

As usual, the core activities of the event will take place in El Cornito, where Napoles Fajardo lived back in the nineteenth century, although the Cucalambeana rural party will expand its cultural activities to other venues throughout the city.

Oral poets, researchers and farmers will participate in the Ibero-American Colloquy of Oral Ten-line Stanza, principal theoretical event, which will be held during the first two days.

This big festival of the traditional arts in Cuba, will also lead to the exciting exhibitions at the Crafts Fair, as well as the performances of the invited countries.

Similarly, children, artists and spectators will have their usual spaces, where the youngest generation of poets will attend workshops on oral poetry.

Se aproxima gran fiesta del campesinado cubano

Las Tunas-  La 44 edición de la Jornada Cucalambeana, fiesta suprema del folklore campesino cubano, se desarrollará en esta ciudad, capital de la provincia de igual nombre, del 29 de junio al 2 de julio próximos.

Además de rendir tributo a Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo, El Cucalambe, el evento tiene como principal propósito homenajear los bicentenarios de México, Bolivia, Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Venezuela y Chile, haciendo confluir las expresiones culturales más auténticas de los pueblos de la América Ibérica.

Como es habitual, las actividades centrales de la cita tendrán lugar en El Cornito, lugar donde vivió Nápoles Fajardo, principal poeta bucólico del siglo XIX, si bien este año la Jornada Cucalambeana ampliará su espectro cultural hasta otros escenarios de la ciudad.

Decimistas, investigadores, promotores y cultores populares unirán sus reflexiones en el Coloquio Ibeoamericano de la Décima y el Verso Improvisado, principal certamen teórico de los festejos, que sesionará durante sus dos primeros días.

Esta gran fiesta del arte tradicional de la Isla, también propiciará las atractivas exposiciones de la Feria de Artesanía, los espectáculos de los países invitados, la concurrencia de la literatura y la trova en el Catauro de la Décima, así como las peñas de narración oral.

De igual modo, los niños –artistas y espectadores- tendrán sus acostumbrados espacios, donde se destacará la labor de los talleres de repentismo infantil en la provincia; mientras, la plástica brillará con la diversidad de manifestaciones -paisaje, décima mural, fotografía- y habrá exhibiciones de juegos y platos identitarios cubanos.
